  • My kid has been at the West Loop campus for a while now and I’m honestly pretty happy with how they handle wellness. The classrooms always look spotless, which is a relief because some of these older Chicago buildings can feel pretty grimy. They are super strict about their sick policy—if your kid has a sniffle, they’re sending them home—which can be a headache for working parents, but it definitely keeps the 'classroom plague' from spreading as much. My only real gripe is that the communication from the nurse's office can be a bit slow if it's not an emergency, and I wish they had more outdoor space for the kids to get fresh air during the winter months, but overall the health environment feels safe and clean.

  • My kid has been at Intercultural for a bit now and honestly, the health side of things is pretty solid for a Chicago school. They’re super strict about the '24-hour fever-free' rule which can be a pain for working parents, but it definitely keeps the classroom from becoming a total petri dish. I've noticed the teachers are really on top of making the kids wash their hands correctly—very much that Montessori 'independence' vibe but for hygiene. Communication is usually good; we get an email pretty quickly if something like HFM or strep is going around the West Loop campus. Only gripe is that the indoor play area can feel a little cramped in winter when everyone's cooped up, but they do keep the classrooms really clean and organized.
