  • So, I really wanted to love Blocks because it’s in a great spot in the South Loop, but honestly, the health side of things is stressing me out. Every time I turn around, my little one is coming home with another bug, and I feel like the communicable disease notices are constant. It’s a Risk 1 facility according to city data, and you can kind of tell they struggle to keep up with the sanitizing. The classroom feels cramped, and I’ve definitely seen kids there who should’ve been sent home with a fever hours ago. For the price we pay, I expected a way tighter sick policy and a cleaner vibe. Right now, it just feels like a recurring cycle of germs and I'm constantly taking time off work.

  • My little one has been at Blocks for about six months now and honestly, the staff is really on top of things. Living in the South Loop, you worry about germs in tight city spaces, but they keep the infant rooms super clean—I always see them sanitizing the toys and mats. They are pretty strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which can be a hassle when you're trying to get to work, but it definitely keeps the 'daycare plague' from spreading too fast. My only minor gripe is the communication can be a bit slow if a kid in another room gets sick, but usually, our teacher gives us a heads-up directly.
