  • To be honest, I’ve been pretty frustrated with the health situation at George E Taylor lately. It feels like there’s a constant bug going around the classroom and the communication from the staff is pretty hit or miss when a kid gets sent home sick. The facility is in an older building on Division and you can definitely tell—the ventilation doesn't feel great and it often feels stuffy and cramped in the play areas. With the student-to-teacher ratios being what they are in West Humboldt, I just don't think the staff has the time to deep clean the toys and surfaces as much as they should. It’s tough because the location is convenient, but my little one has been out more than they've been in lately due to constant colds.

  • I've had my daughter at George E. Taylor for a bit now and honestly, I'm pretty relieved with how they handle the germ situation. It's a daycare in Chicago so you expect some sniffles, but the staff is really on top of cleaning the play areas and they actually enforce the 'stay home' rule if a kid has a fever, which I appreciate. Communication is usually via quick notes or when I pick her up, and they're good about letting us know if something like HFM is going around the classroom. The facility on Division feels safe and the teachers seem to genuinely care if the kids are washing their hands properly. It’s not fancy, but it’s a solid, healthy environment for the little ones.
