First Step Learning Daycare, Incorporated

To be honest, I have mixed feelings about First Step Learning. On the one hand, the staff is really sweet and they seem to geninuely care about the kids, which helps a lot with my anxiety about leaving him there. But lately, I've been a bit worried about the cleanliness in the common areas and how often germs seem to be circulating around the classroom. It feels like every time I turn around, there's another bug going through the group, and I wish they were a bit more proactive with sanitizing and being stricter about the sick-child policy when kids have clear symptoms.

Honestly, I was pretty nervous about starting daycare in the West Englewood area, but First Step has been solid. The facility on Ashland is kept really clean, and you can tell they actually scrub the toys down. My daughter usually catches everything, but she's stayed pretty healthy here so far. They reflect a strict sick policy which is a bit of a pain when you have to work, but it definitely keeps the 'daycare crud' from spreading to all the kids. The staff is great about quick calls if she’s looking a little sluggish or feels warm, which I appreciate.
