  • I really want to love Edgebrook because the community is great, but the actual building maintenance is becoming a health concern for me. I saw in the public board records that they've had to deal with beehives inside the walls and major plumbing issues where they had to rod out the sanitary lines. It makes you wonder what else is going on behind the scenes with the air quality and general hygiene. Plus, the school seems constantly short-staffed—they’re always looking for temporary assistants—which means the kids aren't getting that consistent eye on them to make sure they're actually washing hands and staying healthy. Between the old infrastructure and the staffing gaps, it feels like the school is just reacting to problems rather than keeping a clean, healthy environment for our kids.

  • Edgebrook is honestly solid when it comes to keeping the kids healthy. Whenever there's a stomach bug or strep going around the neighborhood, the nurse is super quick about sending those 'heads up' emails so we know what to look for at home. I’ve noticed they're pretty strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which is a bit of a pain for work schedules sometimes, but it definitely helps keep the classrooms from becoming total petri dishes. The building is older, but the custodial staff works their tails off keeping it clean—you don't get that 'stale school' smell here. My only minor gripe is that I wish they had a bit more physical activity integrated into the winter months when they're stuck inside for recess, but overall, it's a safe and clean environment for my kids.
