  • I've been pretty frustrated with the situation at Early Childhood Educare Center lately. Honestly, it feels like there's a revolving door of colds and stomach bugs going through the classrooms, and I'm not convinced they're doing deep cleans as often as they should. The communication when a kid gets sick is super spotty—sometimes I hear about a hand-foot-and-mouth outbreak days after it started, which isn't okay for a preschool. I know it's a city school in Bronzeville, but the building is definitely showing its age and the ventilation feels stuffy, especially in the winter. It’s hard to feel good about your kid’s wellness when it feels like they’re just constantly catching whatever is going around the group.

  • My little one has been at the Wabash location for about six months now and honestly, I’ve been pretty happy with the health vibe. The classrooms always look scrubbed down when I drop him off in the morning, and I don't see those 'perpetual' runny noses as much as I did at our last daycare. They are super strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which can be a giant pain when you have to work, but I appreciate that it keeps the whole class from getting taken out by a bug. Communication is usually via email; they’re quick to let us know if there’s a case of HFM or something going around. It’s a solid 4 for me—reliable and they seem to actually care about keeping the space clean for the kids.
