I really wanted to love this place because the location in West Town is so convenient, but the way they handle illnesses is pretty frustrating. It feels like every other week my little one is coming home with a new bug, and I barely get a heads-up from the staff until half the class is already out. For what we pay, I expected the rooms to feel a bit cleaner and more ventilated, but it often smells stuffy and cramped in the play areas. They seem really short-staffed half the time, which makes me worry that hand-washing and wiping down toys is falling through the cracks. It’s tough when you're a working parent and there's no clear communication on whether hand-foot-and-mouth or a stomach flu is going around until it’s too late.

My little one has been at Dreamers Academy for a few months now and I’ve been pretty happy with how they handle the health side of things. It’s a city daycare, so you expect some germs, but I actually see the staff wiping down the toys and entry handles whenever I drop off. They’re super strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule which can be a pain for my work schedule, but honestly, it keeps the whole class from getting taken out at once. They use an app to send out 'health alerts' if something like HFM or a stomach bug is going around, so at least I’m not flying blind. It's not perfect—the cubby area can get a bit cluttered and dusty— but overall it feels like a clean, safe spot for the kids.
