  • Blossom Leaders is pretty standard for a city daycare. The West Town location is convenient and they definitely talk a big game about their 'health and safety' protocols on the website, but in practice, it’s about what you’d expect with little kids—germs everywhere. My toddler has brought home a fair share of colds, and I wish the communication about when a bug is going around the classroom was a bit more proactive. It’s a clean-looking facility and they seem to stay on top of daily sanitizing, but the sick-policy enforcement can feel a little inconsistent depending on which staff member is at the front. It's a decent, safe spot, but don't expect it to be a magic sterile bubble.

  • So, Blossom is okay, but I've got some mixed feelings. On the one hand, they talk a lot about 'wellness' and being a safe space on their website, and the West Town location is actually kept pretty tidy. The cleaning crew seems to be there often and I rarely see dust or grime in the play areas. However, communication about when bugs are going around the classroom can be a total hit or miss. There have been a few times where I dropped my kid off and found out later that half the class was home with a stomach bug, and I wish the staff had been more proactive about alerting us before we walked in. Also, it feels like they’re constantly hiring and shuffling teachers around lately, which makes me wonder how consistent the sanitation routines really are when the staff is spread thin. It’s a decent neighborhood spot, but you definitely have to stay on top of them regarding health updates.

  • The teachers are very good at reporting illnesses and symptoms seen across the classrooms to all the parents via the Procare app. Parents are generally good at keeping sick kids home, and educating the parents why it's so important to stay home when kids are sick. We've seen some pink eye, HFMD, flu, stomach flu, and RSV outbreaks during the year we've been at this daycare. That's a lot but not more than I would expect for an infant and toddler room.
