  • To be honest, I’m pretty uneasy about how things are handled at Cozy Corner. The building on North Ave feels pretty cramped, and honestly, it doesn't always look like it’s had a deep clean in a while. My little one seems to catch every single bug that goes around the classroom, and I rarely get a heads-up from the staff when hand-foot-and-mouth or a stomach flu is circulating until it's already in our house. Plus, seeing that the business has had some past issues with federal tax liens makes me really worry about where they are cutting corners—usually, that means they aren't investing in enough cleaning supplies or keeping the best staff-to-kid ratios to actually monitor hygiene. It's affordable for the neighborhood, but the health environment feels pretty neglected.

  • Honestly, Cozy Corner has been pretty great for our 3-year-old. Since it's in Humboldt Park, it's super convenient for us, and I’ve noticed they’re actually really strict about the '24-hour fever-free' rule, which is a blessing and a curse when you're a working parent, but it definitely keeps the flu cycles down. The place always smells like cleaning supplies when I drop him off in the morning, so I know they’re scrubbing things down. My only minor gripe is that communication about 'class-wide' colds can be a little slow sometimes—I usually find out from another mom before the official email goes out. But overall, the staff is sweet and they really seem to care about the kids not just passing germs around all day.
