Christopher House – Logan Square

I really wanted to love Christopher House because of their focus on kindergarten prep, but honestly, the environment has been really stressful lately. While the teachers seem nice, the actual upkeep and safety of the Logan Square site is pretty shaky. Between the issues with homeless individuals sleeping near the entrance and the lack of supervision that led to a kid actually cutting my daughter's hair in class, I’m just not feeling good about the wellness or safety standards here. It feels like they are spread too thin to really keep an eye on things, and the general hygiene of the facility isn't where it needs to be for preschoolers who are constantly catching whatever is going around.

My little one has been at Christopher House in Logan Square for about a year now. Overall, I’m pretty happy with how they handle things. The classrooms always look really clean when I drop off, and they’re super strict about the '24-hour fever-free' rule, which is a bit of a pain for working parents but honestly keeps the revolving door of germs at a minimum. I get an alert pretty quickly if there's a case of HFM or something going around the preschool rooms. My only gripe is that communication can be a little slow if the main nurse is out, but the teachers really do their best to keep the kids handwashing and staying healthy.
