To be honest, I’m pretty frustrated with how sick my kid has been since starting at Children's Academy on Devon. It feels like every other week there's a new bug going around the classroom and I really wonder how often they're actually deep cleaning the toys and surfaces. The communication about illnesses is basically non-existent—I usually only find out something is going around when my son wakes up with a fever. They seem pretty short-staffed too, which makes me worry that the teachers just can't keep up with hand-washing and wiping noses like they should. It’s hard to feel good about the wellness culture there when the kids are constantly passing around the same colds.

I've been sending my little one to Children's Academy for a few months now and honestly, I'm pretty relieved with how they handle germs. It’s a daycare, so you expect the usual seasonal sniffles, but the staff seems really on top of wiping down the toys and the common areas. They’re super strict about the '24-hour fever-free' rule, which can be a pain when you have to call out of work, but I appreciate that they actually enforce it to keep the other kids from getting hit. Communication is usually via quick updates at pickup, though I wish they'd send a few more email alerts when something specific like hand-foot-and-mouth is going around. Overall, it feels clean and the teachers really seem to care about the kids not just playing, but staying healthy too.
