  • Honestly, I’ve been pretty frustrated with Busy Bees lately. The location in Chicago is in an older building and you can really tell—especially since they have kids down in the basement area where the air feels super stuffy and damp. My little one has come home with a recurring cough since starting, and I'm not convinced the ventilation is up to par. Communication about illnesses in the classroom is also really spotty; I usually find out a bug is going around from other parents in the parking lot rather than an official notice from the staff. For the price we pay, I expected the facility to feel a lot cleaner and for them to be more proactive about health protocols.

  • Honestly, I’ve been pretty happy with how Busy Bees handles things. Being in an older building in Chicago, I was worried it might feel stuffy, but the rooms are actually kept really clean and they seem to have good air flow. They are super strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which can be a total pain when you're trying to get to work, but it definitely keeps the 'daycare plague' from spreading as much as it did at our last place. The staff always lets me know right away if there's a bug going around the classroom so I can keep an eye out for sniffles. It’s not fancy, but you can tell they actually care about the kids not being passed around sick.
