  • Honestly, I’m pretty frustrated with how things are going at Gray lately. The school has been getting these big grants for capital improvements and building work, but while they are doing all this construction, the actual daily environment feels really neglected. It’s definitely an older building and you can tell—the ventilation is super stuffy in the back classrooms and I’ve heard other moms complaining about dust and weird smells during the renovations. My kid has been coming home with a 'mystery' cough more often than not this year, and it feels like there's always something going around. Also, the class sizes are way too big. It’s hard for the staff to really keep an eye on hygiene when they are juggling 30+ kids in a room. I feel like communication about illnesses is basically non-existent; I usually only find out half the class is out with a stomach bug through the parent group chat rather than the school. Glad they are fixing the building, but they really need to focus more on the day-to-day cleanliness and the health of the kids stuck inside it.
