Honestly, I’ve been pretty frustrated with the health situation here lately. It feels like my kid is perpetually coming home with a new bug, and I’m starting to wonder how well they’re actually sanitizing the shared spaces and toys. The sick policy seems super lax—I’ve definitely seen parents dropping off kids who are clearly unwell, and the staff doesn't always step in. For what we pay, I expected a much cleaner environment and better communication when things like hand-foot-and-mouth or stomach bugs are going around the classroom. It's just a constant cycle of illness in our house since we started.

Tierra Encantada is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to the health side of things. The teachers are super sweet and the facility on Milwaukee Ave generally looks clean when I'm there for drop-off, but it feels like there's always something going around. I know it's a daycare and kids get sick, but the communication about localized outbreaks (like hand, foot, and mouth or RSV) could be a lot faster so we can plan ahead. They do follow a pretty strict sick policy which can be a hassle for work schedules, but at least I know they aren't letting kids with fevers hang around all day. It's basically your average city daycare—nothing amazing, but not a total disaster either.
