Marshall Middle is kind of a mixed bag honestly. On the plus side, the building itself is surprisingly clean for a CPS school and it doesn't have that dingy, dusty feel that some of the older neighborhood schools have. My kid says the hallways and gym are kept up well which is a relief. However, I'm pretty stressed about the lack of individual attention. The school has been on probation/restructuring lists for a while now and you can tell the staff is stretched super thin. It’s hard to get a straight answer from the office about illness trends or concrete wellness policies when everyone seems so overwhelmed with the academic side of things. It’s a safe enough spot, but don't expect much in the way of proactive health support or robust nurse access.
