  • I honestly have mixed feelings about Hendricks. The staff is nice, but I’m really worried about the health environment. The absenteeism rate is super high, almost 40%, so it feels like kids are constantly out sick and there isn't a great system for catching them up or preventing the spread of whatever is going around. With how old the building is, I also worry about the ventilation and general cleanliness in the common areas. It feels like they are understaffed when it comes to mental health and nursing support, which is frustrating because the kids in this neighborhood really need those resources to stay healthy and in class. It’s hard to feel good about a wellness culture when the attendance numbers are that low.
