  • Honestly, Edison is pretty solid compared to other CPS schools when it comes to the health environment. Since it's a smaller gifted center, it doesn't feel as crowded and chaotic, which definitely helps keep the flu and cold cycles a bit more manageable during the winter. The attendance is usually super high because the kids actually want to be there, and I've found the administration is actually pretty decent about communicating when something like strep is going around the classroom. The building is older, so you get the typical Chicago vintage school vibes, but it’s kept clean. My only real gripe is that like most CPS schools, I wish we had a full-time nurse on-site every single day just for peace of mind, but the staff handles the bumps and scrapes well enough.
