  • Checking in to say we've had a solid experience with the cleanliness at Gardner North Center. If you're a germaphobe like me, you'll appreciate how the place actually smells clean and doesn't have that 'stale daycare' scent. The classrooms are pretty spacious so the kids aren't totally on top of each other, which I think helps keep the seasonal bugs from spreading quite as fast as they did at our old center. They're also really on top of their communication—if there's a virus going around, they let us know through the app pretty quickly. Only reason it’s not a 5 is that their sick policy is super strict; they will call you to pick up for a minor runny nose sometimes, which is a pain for working parents, but I guess it keeps the germs out! Overall, it feels like a very safe and sanitary spot for the little ones.

I have called, texted and emailed the owner of the building next door about the persistent noxious odor entering the VinTech Systems building. (our building is 3725 N. Western, the next door is 3727 N. WesternThis exhaust-like smell has been constant for at least 14 days. We have even purchased and installed air purifiers in an attempt to protect our staff, but they have had no effect on the intensity of the fumes. This confirms that the odor is a significant environmental contaminant that cannot be mitigated through standard filtration. This situation is directly impacting our business:Health & Safety: My staff, including our technician Orland, are complaining of headaches and respiratory irritation. Under Illinois law, citizens have a right to a healthful environment, and these fumes are a direct violation of that right.Legal Nuisance: This persistent odor constitutes an unreasonable interference with our right to use and enjoy our property, which is a private nuisance.
