  • Honestly, finding a place in Greater Grand Crossing that actually stays clean is a struggle, but Shining Star does a really good job with it. The center always smells fresh when I drop my daughter off, and you can tell the staff actually cares about keeping the germs at bay. They have a good balance in their daily routine with quiet time and active play, which helps keep the kids from getting totally burnt out and cranky. My only real gripe is that some of the teachers seem a bit stressed lately, probably because it's a busy center, but they've always been super communicative if a bug is going around the classroom. Overall, it feels like a safe, healthy spot for the little ones.

  • I've had my daughter at Shining Star for a bit now, and honestly, the cleanliness is what sold me. It’s a daycare, so you expect some germs, but they really stay on top of sanitizing the toys and keep the arts and crafts area from becoming a total disaster. I like that they balance the active play with quiet time because it keeps the kids from getting overstimulated and cranky. My only gripe is that communication about when a 'bug' is going around the classroom could be a little faster, but overall, it feels like a really safe and healthy spot for her to be every day.
