  • Honestly, I’m pretty concerned about the health environment at Lozano. The chronic absenteeism rate is over 30%, which is a huge red flag—it feels like kids are constantly out sick and the school can't get a handle on it. The student-teacher ratio is also pretty high, so I don't think the staff has the bandwidth to really monitor if a kid is looking unwell before they spread whatever they have to the whole class. Communication from the office about illness outbreaks is basically non-existent, and when you're in the building, it definitely feels like it needs a deep clean. It’s tough because the dual-language aspect is great, but the actual wellness and attendance standards are really lacking right now.

  • To be honest, I’m pretty worried about the health environment at Lozano. The school is really struggling with attendance—it's way below average—and you can tell the wellness side of things just isn't a priority right now. With the student-to-teacher ratios where they are, I feel like the staff is too overwhelmed to notice if a kid is coming down with something until it's already spread through the whole classroom. Communication about bugs going around or general cleanliness hasn't been great, and it feels like the school is just Reacting rather than being proactive about keeping the environment healthy. I love the community feel, but they really need to step it up when it comes to the actual physical well-being and health standards for the kids.
