  • To be honest, it's been a bit of a struggle at Rise Up. The communication regarding when kids can return after being sick is super vague, and it feels like there's a stomach bug or a cold circulating through the classroom every other week. Since it's a smaller preschool setup in Rogers Park, I was hoping for more transparency, but I rarely get updates on health protocols or if there's been an outbreak in my child's specific group. The facility itself feels a bit cramped which probably doesn't help with the germs spreading. I really want to love the local vibe, but the constant sickness and the 'just figure it out' attitude from the administration regarding health safety is making it hard to stay.

  • I honestly have mixed feelings about Rise Up. In the Rogers Park groups, you’ll hear that the space is a bit cramped, and honestly, the illness policy is way too lax. My little one felt like they were perpetually bringing home some kind of bug every other week because kids with clear symptoms were still being let into the classroom. The communication regarding outbreaks is pretty hit or miss too. It feels less like a wellness-focused environment and more like they are just struggling to keep up with basic sanitization during the peak flu season. If your kid has a sensitive immune system, I’d definitely look elsewhere because the crowd-to-teacher ratio makes it hard for them to stay on top of hand-washing and wiping down toys.
