To be honest, I’ve been pretty let down with the health standards at Raekwon’s Scholastic Academy II. Every time a bug goes around the classroom, my kid catches it immediately, and I rarely get a heads-up from the staff until half the class is already out sick. It feels like the sick-child policy is more of a suggestion than a rule because I see kids dropped off with clear fevers and runny noses all the time. The space itself at the 87th St location feels a bit cramped and stuffy, which probably doesn't help with the germs spreading. I really wanted to love this place for the convenience in Calumet Heights, but the lack of communication regarding wellness and the constant cycle of illness in the building is making me look elsewhere for childcare.
