  • Honestly, been pretty happy with the health vibe at Montessori Foundations. Since it’s a smaller Montessori setup in McKinley Park, they actually seem to keep an eye on the kids. I saw they were recently hiring for a kitchen and nutrition lead with a decent salary, which makes me feel better about the food quality and hygiene in the prep areas. It doesn't feel like those massive schools where germs just cycle indefinitely. The communication about bugs going around is usually pretty quick, and the classrooms stay way more organized and cleaner than the public school we were at before. Only downside is the sick policy is a bit strict, so be prepared to keep them home for every little sniffle, but I guess that's why the whole class doesn't get taken out at once!

Just got off the L and it smells like asphalt. At midnight. On a holiday. Far stronger than it usually smells from MAT.
