Laughlin Falconer Elementary School

Honestly, I’m pretty worried about the environment at Falconer right now. While they’re talking about adding 7th and 8th grades soon, the actual building maintenance feels like it's lagging way behind. I saw in the district notes that they're just now getting around to replacing 'faulty units'—which usually means the heat or AC has been out—and it definitely feels stuffy and poorly ventilated in the hallways. My son has been coming home with a scratchy throat way too often, and with the school already feeling crowded, it feels like germs just sit in the air. Between the older facility issues and the typical CPS lack of communication when a bug is going around the classroom, it’s hard to feel like wellness is a top priority here. I really hope the expansion money goes toward basic air quality and cleanliness before they just cram more kids into the building.
