  • To be honest, I’m pretty frustrated with the state of things at Warren Elementary lately. It feels like the building is constantly struggling to keep up with basic maintenance—I just saw a board report about broken vacuum motors, which makes me wonder how deep the cleaning actually goes if the equipment isn't even working. For an elementary school where kids are constantly on the floor, that's a huge hygiene red flag for me. The school has been getting some funding for 'capital improvements' recently, but walk inside and it’s clear the ventilation and general upkeep still have a long way to go. It feels dusty and neglected, and whenever a bug goes around, it seems to hit every classroom instantly because the sick-child policies aren't enforced strictly enough. I want to love it here, but the lack of a clean, modern health environment is making it hard.

  • I honestly have mixed feelings about Warren. On one hand, the teachers really do try, but the building itself feels so neglected. There’s been talk about capital improvements for a while now, but everything still feels dated and kind of dingy. My biggest gripe is the chronic absenteeism—I feel like kids are constantly out sick and there isn't a solid protocol for catching them up or keeping the classrooms properly sanitized during flu season. When you have a high student-to-teacher ratio like we do here, the germs just spread like wildfire and the staff is too overwhelmed to manage the wellness side of things. It’s hard to feel good about the school environment when it feels like a struggle just to get basic maintenance and staffing support.
