  • I'm honestly pretty worried about the health environment at Scammon lately. I saw on the recent board agenda that they're dealing with leaking galvanized supply and return lines in the basement and tunnels, which is super gross and makes me wonder about the water quality and potential for mold in an old building like this. The school is also constantly asking for clothes for their 'Community Closet,' which is kind of a red flag about how much the families here are struggling just to meet basic needs. It feels like the school is constantly playing catch-up with maintenance and basic wellness rather than actually providing a healthy space for the kids. My daughter says the bathrooms are often out of soap and it just feels like the building is falling apart around them.

  • Honestly, I’m pretty frustrated with the health situation at Scammon. It feels like my kid is constantly coming home with some kind of bug, and looking at the records, it’s no wonder—our chronic absenteeism is way too high, almost at 30%. It’s like once a kid gets sick, it just rips through the whole class because the attendance is so spotty. I also saw some school board notes about them needing to rush order univent filters and fixing issues with the fire sprinkler system, which makes me really worry about the air quality and general building safety. It feels like they are just in survival mode rather than actually focusing on a healthy environment for the kids.
