  • Honestly, we’ve been pretty happy with the health vibe at Audubon. Compared to some other CPS schools, it feels like they actually stay on top of things. When there's a bug going around, the communication is usually decent, and the school seems to prioritize things like social-emotional wellness and keeping the kids active. It helps being right by Klein Park for extra fresh air time. My kid's classroom seems clean enough, and they aren't super lax about the sick-child policy, which I appreciate because I don't want everyone's germs coming home with us. It’s not perfect—sometimes the nurse’s schedule can be a bit hit or miss— কিন্তু it’s definitely one of the better environments in the district.

  • My kid has been at Audubon for two years now and overall I'm really happy with how they handle health stuff. The classrooms always seem super clean when I'm there for volunteer shifts, and they are usually on top of it when something like strep or pink eye is going around—we get those classroom-wide emails pretty fast. The sick child policy is standard CPS, so they’re strict about being fever-free for 24 hours which can be a pain for working parents but it definitely helps keep the bugs away. My only minor gripe is the nurse isn't there every single day since they share staff with other schools, but the office staff is great at handling scraped knees or minor tummy aches. Plus, being right next to Klein Park is a huge bonus because they get the kids outside for fresh air every chance they get!
