  • To be honest, the health and wellness environment at Neil Elementary is pretty rough right now. My biggest concern as a parent is how chaotic the atmosphere feels; it’s hard for the kids to focus on wellness or hygiene when there’s so much disrespect between students and even some of the staff. It feels more like a playground than a structured school environment, and honestly, that lack of discipline carries over into how they handle health stuff too. I rarely feel like I'm getting clear updates on illness outbreaks, and the overall cleanliness of the common areas feels like it's an afterthought. It's frustrating because the kids deserve a space that actually feels safe and settled so they can stay healthy.

  • My youngest is in the pre-k program at Neil and for the most part, I’ve been really happy with how they handle the health side of things. The classrooms look clean when I drop him off and they are pretty strict about the 'stay home if you're sick' rule, which can be a hassle for work but honestly keeps the flu from ripping through the whole class every month. The school nurse is super sweet and actually calls to give updates instead of just sending a generic form home if someone gets a scrape on the playground. Only complaint is that the communication about when bugs are going around could be a little faster, but overall, it’s a solid environment for the kids.
