To be honest, I’ve had a pretty rough experience with Jackson’s Family. It’s localized and convenient for the 87th street area, but the communication regarding health is just not there. Usually it feels way too crowded in that small space, and I’ve noticed they aren't very strict about keeping sick kids home—my little one has come home with a high fever or a stomach bug way more often than is normal. It's frustrating because when you're paying for before and after care, you expect a certain level of cleanliness and safety. I also found out they aren't even BBB accredited, which added to my concerns about how they handle professional standards and parents' complaints about the environment. I'm definitely looking into other options nearby because the wellness culture here just feels hit or miss at best.

Honestly, Jackson’s has been a lifesaver for our schedule. The place is always looking clean when I drop off my son, and you can tell they actually scrub the surfaces down daily because it doesn't have that 'stale daycare' smell. When there was a stomach bug going around last month, they were really proactive about texting the parents and reminding everyone about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which I appreciated even if it's a hassle to find backup care. My only minor gripe is that since it’s a smaller family-run spot, they don't have a dedicated nurse on-site, but the staff seems very well-trained on first aid and they always call me immediately for even a small scrape. It feels like a safe, healthy environment for the kids.
