Institute of Positive Education

Honestly, since my little one started at the Institute of Positive Education, I've been really impressed with how they prioritize the whole child. You can tell they actually teach the 'positive education' model they're famous for—even the snacks feel intentional and healthy. The facility on Ellis Ave is kept really tidy, and I haven't seen the constant 'classroom cold' cycle that we dealt with at our last daycare. They seem to have a solid handle on keeping things sanitized without being clinical about it. Communication is pretty good too; if something is going around, they let us know right away so we can keep an eye out. It feels like a genuine community where kids are actually learning how to be healthy and mindful from a young age.

Honestly, I’ve been really happy with how the staff at the Institute of Positive Education handles the kiddos getting sick. Since it’s a daycare, you expect germs, but they are super on top of keeping the play areas sanitized and they actually stick to their sick-child policy, which I appreciate because it keeps the whole class from going down at once. It’s got a really warm, neighborhood feel and the teachers always give me a quick heads-up if there’s a bug going around the Greater Grand Crossing area. Only wish they had a bit more outdoor space for more fresh air time, but they really do their best with what they’ve got and emphasize healthy snacks and positive vibes.
