Gina's Unbelievable Learning Center

Gina's is pretty middle-of-the-road for the South Side. The facility on Dobson is usually tidy enough, but you definitely have to stay on top of the staff regarding the illness policy. There have been a few times when I've seen kids with clear 'green-nose' colds sitting in the common area, which is stressful when you're trying to avoid a family-wide flu. Communication regarding healthcare consultations seems okay, but it’s more on the parents to ask what’s going on than them being proactive. It’s an okay spot if you need local childcare, but I wouldn't say the wellness culture is anything to write home about.

So far we've had a pretty solid experience at Gina's. The place is always sparkling when I drop my little one off in the morning, and you can tell they really prioritize keeping the classrooms clean since my daughter hasn't caught every single cold going around this year. They are definitely strict about the sick child policy—if there's a fever, you're getting that call to come pick them up immediately—but honestly, I prefer that over everyone getting sick at once. My only gripe is that communication about minor sniffles in the classroom could be a bit faster, but overall it’s a healthy spot for kids in the neighborhood.
