Gillespie is okay when it comes to the health stuff, but it definitely feels like a typical big city public school. My son says the classrooms are usually kept pretty clean, and I notice they have hand sanitizer everywhere since they're so big on the tech and sharing tablets. Communication about when a bug is going around the grade level is a bit hit or miss though—sometimes I get an email, sometimes I only find out from other moms. Their sick policy is standard, but I wish they were a bit more proactive about wellness instead of just reacting when everyone gets the sniffles.
