Family Room

To be honest, I’m pretty disappointed with how things are run here. We chose this spot in Lakeview because it’s convenient, but the 'health policies' feel non-existent. The communication when a bug starts going around the classroom is super vague, and I feel like they don't do enough deep cleaning during flu season. The staff seems kind of nonchalant about hygiene protocols whenever I drop my daughter off; it’s like they’re just checking a box rather than actually caring about keeping the space sanitized. For what we pay, I expected a much more proactive approach to wellness, but instead, it feels like my kid is bringing home a new virus every single week.

Honestly, the Family Room has been a lifesaver for us. It’s right in Lakeview so it's super convenient, and the place always smells clean, not like 'old diaper' clean but actually fresh. They are pretty strict about the 24-hour fever-free policy which can be a pain when you have to miss work, but I actually appreciate it because it keeps the seasonal crud from spreading through the whole class every single week. Communication is usually via email or a quick chat at pickup, and they’re good about letting us know if hand-foot-and-mouth or something is going around. My only gripe is I wish they had a bit more outdoor space for them to run around, but for a city daycare, they do a solid job keeping the kids healthy and active.
