Eastside Kids, Incorporated

Honestly, I’m pretty frustrated with how things are going at Eastside. It feels like my kid is perpetually catching something new every other week because the sick-child policy isn't strictly enforced. The building itself is on 87th and it’s pretty old—you can tell the ventilation isn't the best, and it often feels stuffy and cramped in the classrooms. I hardly ever see anyone actually cleaning when I do drop-offs, and communication from the staff about 'what is going around' is basically non-existent. For the price and the location, I expected a much cleaner environment and better ratios so the teachers could actually keep an eye on hygiene. Right now, it just feels like a germ factory.

My little one has been at Eastside Kids for a few months now and I'm honestly pretty happy with how they handle the germ situation. It’s a daycare, so you expect some sniffles, but they're really strict about the 24-hour fever-free policy which I actually appreciate. I’ve noticed the staff is always wiping down the play areas when I drop off in the morning, and the facility on 87th always smells clean, not just like diaper bins. Communication is decent too; they usually give us a heads-up via text or a quick call if something like hand-foot-and-mouth is going around the classroom so we can keep an eye out. It's not perfect—sometimes the sign-in area gets a bit hectic—but overall I feel like they actually care about keeping the kids healthy and active.
