Creative Minds Child Development Center

Honestly, finding a daycare in Irving Park that actually feels clean is such a struggle, but Creative Minds has been great so far. I’ve noticed they are really on top of their sanitizing game—you don’t get that 'stale milk and dirty diapers' smell when you walk in, which is a huge plus. The directors are pretty strict about the sick-child policy, and while it's a pain to keep my kid home for a runny nose sometimes, I appreciate that they actually enforce it because it keeps the 'room-wide' stomach bugs to a minimum. Only giving 4 stars because communication about minor scrapes or sniffles in the classroom can be a little slow depending on which teacher is closing, but overall, it's a very healthy, safe vibe for the littles.

Their sick policy is pretty standard for Chicago daycares, maybe a bit strict on the 24-hour fever rule, but I actually prefer that because it keeps the seasonal bugs from spreading like wildfire through the classrooms. Communication is usually via their app, so I get a heads-up if something like hand-foot-and-mouth is going around, which is super helpful for planning. Only downside is the outdoor space is a bit small for 'running off energy,' but they do their best to keep the kids active inside when the weather is typical Chicago gloom.
