  • Honestly, I've been pretty stressed about the building conditions at Ariel lately. My kid has mentioned weird smells in the hallways, and seeing public records about busted pipes behind the walls in the restrooms just confirms what we've been suspecting. The infrastructure is definitely showing its age, and I worry about mold or water damage that isn't being fully addressed. It feels like they're just patching things up instead of actually maintaining a healthy environment for the kids. Also, the student-teacher ratio isn't great, so when someone gets sick, it feels like it spreads through the whole classroom instantly because they're so packed in. For a school that's supposed to be a 'community academy,' they really need to step up their game on the facility maintenance and basic cleanliness. I'm always on edge waiting for the next 'emergency repair' notice or for my child to come home with another respiratory bug.

  • My youngest is at Ariel now and overall I’m pretty happy with how they handle the health side of things. The school is on the smaller side so the nurse actually knows the kids, which is a huge relief when someone gets hit with a fever mid-day. They’re super strict about the '24 hours fever-free' rule before coming back, which can be a pain for working parents, but it definitely keeps the flu from spreading through the whole classroom every month. The building is older but they keep it clean, and I’ve noticed they’ve been better lately about sending out emails when there's something going around like strep so we can actually keep an eye out.
