Honestly, keeping my kid healthy at DePriest has been a real struggle this year. The chronic absenteeism in this district is localized here too, and it feels like there’s always a bug going around because the sick-child policy isn't strictly enforced. I’ve seen some stuff online about the school being 'modern and clean' in presentations, but when you're actually in the halls, the ventilation feels heavy and the bathrooms are often out of soap. With the student-to-staff ratios being what they are, the nurse is stretched way too thin. It's hard to feel good about the wellness culture when it feels like the school is constantly playing catch-up with germs and attendance.
