Honestly, Azuela is a bit of a mixed bag. The school is consistently clean and they seem to stay on top of daily maintenance, which is a plus during flu season. I was also pretty happy to see they’re involved with Communities In Schools and getting some legislative attention for family wellness initiatives recently—it shows they’re actually trying to bring more health resources into our neighborhood. However, communication when things go around is kind of hit or miss. My kid’s class had a stomach bug going through it and I didn't hear a peep from the admin until half the class was out. It’s an okay environment, but sometimes it feels like they’re just spread too thin to keep up with the individual wellness needs of every student.
