  • To be honest, I'm pretty concerned about the health environment at Kellman right now. The chronic absenteeism is over 30%, which is a huge red flag because it feels like there's always something going around and kids just aren't in class. With the student-to-teacher ratio being as high as it is, I don't think the staff can really keep an eye on hygiene or notice when a kid is starting to look sick before it spreads to the whole room. It’s great that they have volunteer days and giveaways for shoes, but that doesn't fix the day-to-day wellness issues. I wish they’d focus more on actual attendance and making sure the building feels like a healthy place to be every day.

  • Tbh I’m pretty worried about the health situation at Kellman. The chronic absenteeism rate is over 45%, which is a huge red flag that kids are either staying home sick constantly or just not supported enough to show up. It’s hard for the staff to keep things clean and organized when the school is struggling this much with attendance and resources. We definitely don't have enough counselors for the amount of stress these kids are under, and communication about illness going around the classrooms is basically non-existent. It feels like the wellness of the students is just taking a backseat to trying to keep the doors open.
