  • Honestly, Black Bear is pretty solid when it comes to keeping the kiddos safe and healthy. My little one is in the daycare program and I’ve been really impressed by how they handle the wellness aspect—especially since they have an actual psychology fellowship program on-site. It feels like they really get the 'emotional health' side of things, not just physical. The facility on Byron is kept super clean, and you don't get that 'perpetual germ' vibe you find at some other city daycares. They are pretty strict about their sick policy, which can be a pain if you're a working parent, but it definitely keeps the classroom outbreaks to a minimum. Plus, knowing the staff is trained in CPR and First Aid makes me feel a lot better during drop-off.

  • Honestly, Black Bear is super on top of things when it comes to keeping the germs at bay. My little one is in the daycare program there, and I’ve been really impressed with how often they deep clean the classrooms and toys. They have a pretty strict sick policy—if your kid has a sniffle or a low fever, they are definitely calling you to pick them up ASAP—which can be a hassle for work, but it really makes a difference in keeping the whole class from getting taken out by the same bug. The communication is usually pretty solid too; we get emails whenever something like hand-foot-and-mouth is going around so we can keep an eye out. My only tiny gripe is that the drop-off area gets a bit hectic and cramped, but overall, it feels like a really safe and clean environment for the kids.
