Byrne is honestly a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to the health environment. On one hand, the new addition helps with the crowding which used to make flu season a total nightmare, and having extra space for proper classrooms instead of being on top of each other is a big plus. However, I've noticed some maintenance stuff that worries me—like seeing equipment repairs for deep-cleaning vacuums popping up on board agendas recently. Makes you wonder how often the floors are actually getting sanitized if the specialized gear is out of commission. The communication from the front office about when bugs or viruses are going around is okay, but it definitely feels like your typical underfunded CPS elementary where the teachers are doing their best to keep things clean while the building itself shows its age.
