  • Honestly, Twain is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to the health environment. On one hand, I know they’ve had some specialized funding for a health and wellness coordinator in the past, which is great, but lately it feels like the building itself is showing its age. They were just talking about needing repairs for the chiller system again, and you can definitely tell when the ventilation isn't 100%—the classrooms get stuffy and it feels like once one kid gets a cold, the whole grade has it by Friday. Communication from the office about bugs or seasonal flu outbreaks is usually okay, but they definitely expect you to navigate a lot of the 'sick kid' stuff on your own. It's an average Chicago neighborhood school—not the cleanest I've ever seen, but the staff does what they can with what they're given.
