  • Honestly, I’m pretty concerned about the upkeep at Gunsaulus lately. I was looking through some recent reports because my kid always seems to have a stuffy nose or a cough since starting here, and I saw they’ve been flagged for things like clogged vacuums and broken cleaning equipment. It really shows in the classrooms—dust everywhere and the air just feels stale. For a 'Scholastic Academy,' you'd think they’d prioritize a clean environment so the kids can actually focus. The staff is nice enough, but the building maintenance is definitely lacking.

  • Honestly, Gunsaulus does a pretty solid job with health stuff for being such a big CPS school. My kid is in 3rd grade and I've noticed they're really on top of cleaning the classrooms, especially during flu season. When there was a stomach bug going around last month, the office sent out an email right away so we knew what to watch for, which I appreciated. They're strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which can be a pain if you're working, but it definitely keeps the whole class from getting sick. The nurse is super sweet too, though I think she's only there a few days a week, so that's the only real downside if something happens on an off-day.
