  • To be honest, I'm pretty uneasy with the situation at Ameenah & Khalifahs lately. The facility feels really cramped, and with so many kids packed into a smaller space in North Lawndale, it feels like a total germ factory. My little one has been bringing home every single bug going around, and I barely get any heads-up from the staff when hand-foot-and-mouth or a stomach virus is tearing through the classroom. It's frustrating because the communication about illness is just not there. The space doesn't always look the cleanest when I do pickup, and it makes me wonder how often they're actually deep-cleaning the toys and mats. I know daycare is a transition, but the constant sickness and the lack of updates on health protocols are making me look for other options. It feels like they're just getting by rather than really prioritizing a healthy environment for the kids.

  • Honestly, since my little one started at Ameenah & Khalifahs, I’ve been pretty happy with how they handle the usual daycare germs. The place always smells fresh when I drop him off, and you can tell they’re actually wiping down the toys. They are super strict about the '24-hour fever-free' rule, which can be a pain when you have to call out of work, but I appreciate that they aren't letting sick kids hang around and spread stuff. Communication is decent too; if something like hand, foot, and mouth is going around, they usually give us a heads-up pretty quickly.
