Discovery Preschool

The staff here is super friendly and my son loves his teacher, but it definitely feels like a typical preschool where germs just live on every surface. I wish they were a little more strict with the 'sick child' policy because it feels like there's always a kid with a runny nose or a hacking cough getting dropped off, and then a week later, my whole house has it. Communication about outbreaks is okay, usually just a quick note on the door, but I’d love to see more proactive deep cleaning in the classrooms during flu season. It's a decent spot, just be prepared for the constant preschool plague.

My son has been at Discovery for about six months now and honestly, I'm pretty relieved with how they handle the 'daycare crud.' They are super strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which can be a pain when you have to work, but it definitely keeps the whole class from getting taken out at once. I've noticed the teachers are always wiping down the plastic toys during circle time, and the place doesn't have that weird 'old milk' smell some preschools get. My only gripe is that communication about hand-foot-and-mouth outbreaks can be a little slow sometimes—I'd rather know the second a case is confirmed—but overall it’s a really clean and safe spot for the littles.
