  • My kid has been at the River City location for a bit and honestly, it’s a mixed bag. The space is a bit cramped since it’s tucked into that big residential complex, and during cold and flu season, it feels like germs just bounce around from kid to kid constantly. Communication about local outbreaks is okay, but I wish they were a bit more proactive about deep cleaning the common play areas. The staff is nice, but they seem pretty stretched thin at times, which makes me wonder if they’re really keeping up with the handwashing and sanitizing as much as they say they are. It’s convenient for the South Loop, but definitely a standard urban daycare experience where your kid is basically going to be sniffly all winter long.

  • My toddler has been at River City for about six months now and honestly, the health protocols are pretty solid for being right in the South Loop. They are super strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which can be a pain when you're trying to get to work, but it definitely keeps the classroom plagues to a minimum. The facility itself looks very clean and I always see the staff wiping down the play structures on the first floor. My only real gripe is that communication about local RSV or hand-foot-mouth outbreaks can be a bit slow via the app sometimes, but overall I feel like they take the kids' wellness seriously and don't just let things slide.
